If you take a look at my work notebook from way back in 2017, one of my goals was to open an online shop. I had no clue what it would even include or ANY logistics around how it would be handled, but for some reason, I wrote it down.
If you didn’t know already, I’m a big fan of 90’s and 00’s pop music. From Backstreet Boys, to One Direction, to Britney and every TRL ranked pop artist from that era, bring on all the nostalgic vibes and I’m in my zone. I wanted to take the love of this era and somehow bring it into day-to-day life: Shirts, wine, coffee and more!
A few of the items in the shop are truly handmade (by Kelsey!) and uploaded right to Etsy manually. These include the iridescent coffee mugs and wine glasses. Kelsey actually makes these to order by printing the design, adjusting it to remove any imperfections, sticking them to the mug, and packaging each of them with love one-by-one.
But, if you take a look at the shirts and stickers, these are actually powered by the magic of Printful. They provide services to shop owners to print the products, package them and ship them to customers. That’s right — we are completely hands-off when it comes to handling the production and shipping of these orders! Talk about a breath of relief, right?!
We weighed a couple different options before deciding on Printful (including PrintedMint) and this felt like the easiest to build and integrate with Etsy. And, because it allows us to be hands-off in the fulfillment stage, it frees up our time to be able to design more products that our customers will love.
Here’s to setting and accomplishing goals in 2021! Hey, even if they are 4 years old… 😉
